Who we are
Medico Maris was created to meet a real need on the Murter coastline: accessible medical care for both local residents and international visitors.
When someone becomes ill or injured away from home, even a simple health concern can feel stressful. Language barriers, unfamiliar healthcare systems, and uncertainty about where to go can make the experience even more difficult. Our clinic was built to make that process easier by offering walk-in medical care in a setting that is professional, approachable, and patient-focused.
We care for people of many ages and backgrounds, including tourists, seasonal visitors, families, and residents of the island community. Patients come to us for illness, injuries, travel-related health concerns, wound care, consultations, and other everyday medical needs. Every visit is approached with attention, clear communication, and respect for the individual situation.
Because many of our patients come from different countries, communication is an important part of our care. Our team speaks Croatian, English, German, French, and some Italian and Spanish, helping patients explain their concerns clearly and feel more confident during their visit.
In addition to care at our clinic, Medico Maris also offers house-visits to homes, hotels, and boats in the surrounding area when doctors are available and must be arranged by request. This service is designed for situations where coming to the clinic may be difficult, while still helping patients receive timely medical attention.
At Medico Maris, we believe good healthcare begins with listening. Our goal is to provide care that feels clear, respectful, and reassuring from the moment you contact us to the moment you leave our clinic.
Accepted Forms of Payment & Insurance
At Medico Maris, we believe healthcare costs should be straightforward and transparent.
We accept cash as well as major debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard.
As a walk-in clinic, we do not work directly with insurance providers. Payment for medical services is made at the time of your visit, helping avoid delays in care and minimizing confusion surrounding insurance approvals or coverage.
Following your appointment, patients will receive a medical bill and supporting documentation that may be submitted to their insurance provider for reimbursement consideration, depending on their individual policy and coverage. Insurance plans and reimbursement eligibility vary, and we encourage patients to contact their provider directly to better understand what compensation they may qualify for.
Our goal is to provide clear communication, transparent pricing, and dependable medical care — helping patients understand their medical expenses while receiving timely treatment and the full value of the care they receive.
